At the Hand to Hand Project, our mission is to help create safer, more supportive environments where children can grow with confidence, knowledge and a strong sense of self.

We believe that education, open communication and trusted relationships can play an important role in helping children understand their bodies, recognise their emotions, develop healthy boundaries and know that they have the right to speak up and seek help when something doesn’t feel right.

Supporting the Adults Who Support Children

Protecting and empowering children is not something children should have to navigate alone.

Parents, caregivers, educators and other trusted adults play an essential role in creating environments where children feel safe, heard and supported.

Through accessible educational resources, books, practical tools and learning opportunities, the Hand to Hand Project aims to help adults feel more informed and confident when having important conversations with children about body safety, emotions, consent, boundaries, trusted adults and asking for help.

Education That Grows With the Child

We believe these conversations should not happen only once.

They can begin in simple, age-appropriate ways from early childhood and continue as children grow and their understanding of themselves, relationships and the world around them develops.

Our goal is to make these conversations easier to begin and easier to continue at home, in educational settings and throughout the wider community.
